FAQ FAQ

ANKASCIN 568 is a patented fermented red yeast rice produced by the specific strain Monascus purpureus NTU 568. Unlike traditional red yeast rice, it is standardized to contain high levels of the active compounds Monascin and Ankaflavin, without the risky component Monacolin K.

Traditional red yeast rice relies on Monacolin K (chemically identical to the statin drug Lovastatin) to lower cholesterol, which can cause statin-like side effects. ANKASCIN 568 is completely free of Monacolin K and achieves its health benefits through Monascin and Ankaflavin instead.

Monacolin K can cause adverse side effects such as muscle pain (myopathy) and liver damage, and it can interact negatively with prescription medications. By being Monacolin K-free, ANKASCIN 568 avoids these risks and is safer for long-term daily use.
